À propos de cet épisode

On Friday’s episode of Europe Today, we cross over to Cyprus where leaders are gathering to talk Ukraine, Iran and Europe’s collective defence. Our correspondent Jorge Liboreiro explains there is a palpable sense of relief among leaders after the ouster of Viktor Orbán in Hungary, who has been obstructing key decisions on support for Ukraine

But when it comes to Ukraine’s fast-tracked EU membership, leaders are split. Jorge speaks to Estonian PM Kristen Michal, a staunch ally of Kyiv’s, who said that there is “no other way” for Ukraine’s future than within the EU. Other leaders have expressed more cautious views, saying Ukraine cannot cut corners and must meet all the necessary reforms.

We also speak to the former President of the European Council, Charles Michel, about his views on Europe’s future.
