S1#16🌞😎🇺🇸🇬🇧 : The castle of Maisons and the french classical architecture
À propos de cet épisode
The Château de Maisons (located in Maisons-Laffitte, France), designed by the architect François Mansart and completed in the 1650s, was soon considered a pure example of so-called classical architecture by its peers. From being an aristocratic residence, it rose to the rank of historical monument after being saved from destruction by the State in 1905. This summer 2020, a campaign of vast rehabilitation of its gardens will begin.
Well known to the general public, the royal cities of western Paris _and their castles_, Versailles and Saint-Germain-en-Laye, are popular destinations for tourists. It is nevertheless important to remember the fundamentals of a heritage of immense quality in western Paris, such as that of the Château de Maisons.
