Vincent Lavergne, founder and director of Vincent Lavergne Architecture and Urban Planning, explains to us how the Watt tower is such a special project in Paris. 

Leaning against the base covering the railroad tracks, the Watt Tower is in a position of pivot and urban connector between two eras, between two levels of the city, the old and the new.It is rare in France for a tower, often an isolated object, to concentrate so many development issues in the neighborhood in which it is located: the project here goes beyond the simple architectural transformation of the building to constitute a strong signal of the urban transformation of the neighborhood.
